Regional Contract Academy of Training Opens Doors 09/25/03

Los Angeles, CA – The Regional Contract Academy of Training (RCAT) is officially open for business in its new offices in Monterey Park, CA. In conjunction with the Los Angeles Community College District, RCAT offers hands-on, skill-based training to businesses in East Los Angeles and surrounding communities.

RCAT, a Community College Business Collaboration of East Los Angeles College and Los Angeles Mission College, is initially being funded by grants, but will eventually be self-sufficient. RCAT will fill the need of employee training that has been previously unmet by community colleges and corporate training, due to lack of funding and insufficient staff. RCAT will provide on-site training to local businesses, as well as in the state-of-the-art training center in Monterey Park.

Training programs have been designed to meet the needs of seven industries most important to the local economy, and include Customer Service, Health Care, Culinary, Office and Business Management, Sexual Harassment, Diversity Training, International Business Communication and custom-designed programs specific to individual businesses and industries.

The Regional Contract Academy of Training meets workforce demands in the business economy by providing hands-on skills based training to businesses in the Los Angeles community.
