RCAT Honored for Excellence in Workforce Development 06/01/06

Los Angeles, CA – The Regional Contract Academy of Training was recognized as a leader in Workforce Development Training at the 6th Annual Excellence in Workforce Development Awards.

Taking home a total of seven awards, East Los Angeles College (ELAC) was the most recognized college in the Los Angeles Community College District, with a total of four third-pace ribbons, one runner-up, and two first-place honors.

Receiving a first place win for “Outstanding Collaboration with Business and Industry” RCAT was recognized as a leader for designing training to meet specific industry training needs, by partnering with Los Angeles’ businesses for skill-based training curriculum development in multiple industries with the health care industry business collaborators as the major partners in the current training programs.

The well-attended May luncheon event was hosted by LA Trade Tech College, and presented LACCD’s Blue Ribbon Career Programs to colleagues and the greater LA business community alike. As in past years, ELAC has been a leader in Workforce Development programs, and this year’s wins prove its continuing blue ribbon excellence.
